The meeting Female talent: leadership for social transformation will be held this Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

That women hold managerial positions in the public and private sectors should be a priority. The reason? Because figures in leadership positions have a transforming power of social dynamics and reality. But today, according to the report Women in Business 2022continue to be underrepresented: only 36% of managerial positions in the country are women, while they represent almost 46% of the workforce.

How to further enhance this leadership? What do we need as a society so that female talent is not left behind? How does female leadership influence the profitability of companies? Are we exporting talent and losing opportunities by not taking measures to promote women’s social and business leadership? To answer these questions, EL PAÍS and Farmaindustria have organized a meeting in which various experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities to continue closing the gender gap at the top of organizations.

The meeting —which will be held next Tuesday, July 12— will be opened by Teresa Risk, Secretary General of Innovation of the Government of Spain. Subsequently, a round table will be held, with the participation of Fina Lladós, General Director of Amgen for Spain and Portugal and member of the Board of Directors of Farmaindustria; Mercedes Coghen, Vice President of the Royal Spanish Hockey Federation; Pilar Toboso, professor of Contemporary History at the Autonomous University of Madrid and director of the University Institute for Women’s Studies (IUEM); Paloma Domingo, Deputy Director of the CSIC General Foundation, and Rafif Srour, Vice Dean of Programs at IE University.

The meeting, entitled Female talent: leadership for social transformation, can be followed through the website and social networks of this newspaper from 9:30 am. The appointment will be directed by Marta González Novo, director of Today for Today Madrid of Cadena SER.
