Real Madrid wins Seville and moves away from the top
Real Madrid’s first football team scored two goals near the end through Lucas Vazquez and Federico Valverde to win 3-1 against struggling Sevilla in the Spanish Primera Division, on Saturday.
Luka Modric gave the defending champion a goal after five minutes of the match, after receiving a low cross from Vinicius Junior and hitting the empty goal.
Real Madrid dominated the game but missed many chances, and allowed Sevilla to return in the 54th minute, when Eric Lamela ran behind the defense to equalize from close range past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
However, Vinicius shone again, receiving a long pass from substitute Marco Asensio, ran quickly towards the goal and then passed to the other substitute Vazquez, who easily scored in the empty goal in the 79th minute.
Valverde sealed the victory two minutes later with a massive shot from the edge of the penalty area into the upper right corner.
Real leads the league with 31 points, six points behind second-placed Barcelona, which hosts Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
