Bayern extends Stanisic’s contract until 2026
Bayern Munich announced the extension of the contract of Croatian defender Josep Stanisic until 2026.
The 22-year-old defender, who will participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, joined Bayern’s under-17 team in 2017 and has been in the first team since 2021.
Hasan Salihamidzic, Member of the Board of Directors for Sports Affairs, said: “Josep Stanisic has proven his presence in the first team over the past two years, thanks to the club’s youth academy. He can play in any position and perform well when you need him.”
So far, the player has participated in 29 games with Bayern, and scored one goal. Prior to that, he was part of the reserve team that won the third division title in 2020.
Stanisic said: “The contract extension is a good vote of confidence from Bayern Munich, and I would like to prove that I am worthy of this confidence through performance, which motivates me a lot to develop further, as a person born in Munich, it was my dream to play in this shirt.”
