The Qatar Football Association announced, on Monday, that it had signed a contract with Portuguese Carlos Queiroz to coach the first football team.
The federation added, in a brief statement on its Facebook page: “The Portuguese Queiroz is coach of Al-Annabi. All the best to the coach with the battalion of our national team.
Spain’s Felix Sanchez left the national team after his contract expired last December, following Qatar’s first participation in the World Cup when it hosted the finals.
The national team was eliminated from the group stage with three defeats, and scored one goal, which was against Senegal.
